Good vs God
“For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD.
"They are plans for good and not for disaster,
to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
“For I know the plans I have for you,” say’s the Lord.
Let’s simplify this for greater understanding. For I (God) know the plans I (God) have for you.
There you go, nice, simple and clearly stated. God has plans and a purpose for you. I think most of us would agree that God has good and God things for us, but we get a little lost when it comes to timing. We want God things in our timing, good things from our wish list and a life of purpose without faith.
“God is not required to reveal his plan to you. Your faith requires you to believe that He has a plan and purpose for you even if you can’t see it.” – Journey to Purpose
God once told me that my blessings would be equal to my obedience. Talk about motivation. I hear those words echo in my head all the time. He has the plans AND the blessings.
God is waiting to give us good things, He wants to bless our future, He wants to give us hope but do we want these things enough to follow the plan God has for us?
Are you willing to give up good things for God things? Are you ready to allow God to pick the blessings from His list and not ours? Are you ready to put your faith in His timeline rather than your own?
I hope so! This broken world needs you to step into the purpose God has for you with all the faith you have so you can change the world for Him with the purpose He has given you.
Write down a prayer of submission to God. Tell him all about the plans you have then lay them at His feet and ask Him to work His plan through you. Pray this prayer every day this week.
