All Things
And we know that God causes everything to work together
for the good of those who love God
and are called according to his purpose for them.
Romans 8:28 NLT
We have been talking about Esther and her, not so easy life. Esther was taken from her adopted family and forced into a harem of women who were all competing for the chance to be the next Queen and wife to King Xerxes. Relief must have come when she was chosen to be queen, but if you read about the life of Esther, you will see that her life was a list of tragedies, one after the other, with little room to breathe so it makes sense that becoming queen was just the beginning of another disaster.
Esther’s life was always being turned upside down by no fault of her own.
Can you relate?
I know I can. There have been so many times when the sin of others has affected my life, my heart, my mind, and my purpose. It is hard to see what God can do through you after experiencing what people have done to you. God is bigger than anything that has been done to you or by you. He is in the restoration and healing business; He is in the working things together business, and He is in the business of redeeming brokenness for those who love God and are called according to his purpose.
“All things work together for good. ALL THINGS. That means Jesus takes it ALL- things that are good, bad, hurtful, painful, happy, sad, devastating, unforgivable – and weaves them together for good. He weaves them together with threads of grace and forgiveness, healing and restoration.” – Journey to Purpose
The questions are:
1. Do you love God?
2. Are you willing to live out His purpose for your life?
When you put God first, all the promises follow. God wants you to love Him in purpose then live your life on purpose.
