He Will Be With You
“Do not be afraid or discouraged,
for the LORD will personally go ahead of you.
He will be with you;
he will neither fail you nor abandon you."
Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT
At the beginning of the study in “Journey To Purpose”, I ask the reader to circle the descriptive words I provided that best describes how they feel about their purpose.
I gave these options: elusive, scary, small, insignificant, big, spectacular, ordinary or special.
Which ones would you circle? Ten years ago, I would have circled the word “scary.” I was afraid; no, I was terrified of what God might ask me to do, I was sure that whatever God had for me would be left to me alone to do. I just knew that God’s purpose for my life would feel more like a punishment than an opportunity to change the world for Jesus.
“When God tells you to go. He goes with you! The journey to and through purpose is not something you do alone. Purpose is given to you by God and you are accompanied by God. He goes with you! He lights the path, He guides your steps, He leads you, and He directs you.” – Journey To Purpose
The word I would use to describe my purpose now is EXCITING! I have not journeyed through purpose alone, I have not felt punished, abandoned or embarrassed. I have been accompanied by God; He has taught me to live my life on purpose with joy and expectation.
Join the journey, I promise it’s worth it!
